Storage and Handling
Potassium Nitrate is hygroscopic. It should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and incompatible materials. Reseal containers immediately after use. Store away from Food and Beverages.
Avoid breathing dust. Avoid getting in eyes or on skin. Dangerous risk when shocked or heated or in contact with organic materials, strong and oxidizing agent.
Eye/Skin Contact:
In the event of eye/skin contact occurring, immediately imigate with copious quantities of clean water, holding the eye open if necessary. Obtain medical attention.
Applications :
Potassium Nitrate is used in the manufacture of various types of Glass, Explosive- Blasting powder. Pyrotechnics, Matches, Fertilizers, Heat Treatment and Heat transfer salts. It is used as an oxidizer in solid rocket propellants.
Packing :
Potassium Nitrate is supplied in poly lined HDPE bags of 25 / 50 kgs each.
